Our Newest Photographer Is Catherine Lilbit Devine From Rincon Creek Studios

Below she will tells us about herself and her work:

I started my love affair with image capturing when I was a sophomore in High School.  I was given a small 35mm camera and black & white film by the photography teacher.  My assignment was to go about my daily routine for the next two weeks and capture photos as I went.  At the end of the two weeks, I had to develop the photos in the darkroom and create a portfolio of my images.  My photography teacher used my portfolio as an example of "creative, professional" work and submitted them into a photography competition.

That was 32 years ago . I have since moved on to digital photography.  I use an Olympus EV500 currently, as my Nikon D300 and all of its lenses were stolen.  I also have a Nikon Coolpix 8800, which I use as a back-up.  Its old but it does quite well in a pinch.

I have traveled extensively throughout Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and the Southwestern United States capturing slices of time, landscape, people, culture and traditions. I also do location photography for Family portraits and special events.

I consider myself to be a semi-professional photographer, as it isn't my main source of income...yet.

Our Newest Photographer Is Shannon, From Washington

Below she wil tell us about herself, and her work:

I am a beginning photographer, and a very fun loving person.  I really appreciate beauty in nature around me, especially flowers.  I started to really take time in pictures whenever I would be less motivated to work on my Graphic Designs for my Zazzle store.
To me, photography is another outlet for my artistic side when I want to use a different medium.  For about 3 years, I have been experimenting with photography and editing my photos. I absolutely love to capture nature at its finest and, sometimes, most random.  I also enjoy getting the detail and color of the subject at its most vibrant.
I also like to take  photos of animals, landscapes and various still life subjects.  I shoot with a Nikon D3000, and sometimes "Digitally Manipulate" my photos, so that they look completely different.

Our Next Photographer Is Shari Britt, Little Wing Design in North Carolina

Below she will tell us about her work, and herself:

I'm an avid newbie photographer from North Carolina who began taking photos in the garden and still do take most of my pictures there.  I use a Nikon d70s mostly with an occasional shoot using my hubbies d90. Having been an obsessed gardener for many years prior to picking up photography has afforded me the luxury of a wide variety of subjects outside my backdoor from flora to fauna.

I go back and forth between photography and learning how to use graphics software to create designs for my Zazzle store.

My biggest interest in recent years has been gardening.  I became active in both Garden Web's regional forum and Dave's Garden which was responsible for a love affair with day lilies.  I haven't had much time for those lately though.
I have a full time desk job at an auto dealership, a husband and 2 very spoiled Pomeranian’s.

Scenery photography is my 1st hobby, and my other hobby would have to be hiking. Love hiking the Sierra Nevada’s,and Palo Duro Canyon.

Our Next Photographer Is Jodi Scyphers From Idaho

Below she will tell us about herself and her photography:

My name is Jodi Scyphers, I am married, a graphic designer and photograper in the daytime and I live in Lewiston Idaho. I am new to Zazzle and am still in the process of setting up my store, but please take a look, and let me know what you think.

I have lived in Idaho my entire life. For the past 15 years I have worked as a whitewater rafting guide during the summer. Besides being able to take action and scenery shots, I found that I really enjoyed taking candid photos of my guests when they had no idea that the moment was being captured. They enjoyed the pictures that were true to the experience and not staged to make the 'perfect portrait.

As my new found interest grew, so did my bill at the local store specializing in cameras and custom developing. To help support my hobby I took a part time position in their photo lab. For 10 years I printed photos on a Konica Nice Print system, and did custom enlargements {which I loved doing} in the darkroom. I loved being able to see the wide variety of images that came through the lab each day. During that time I developed a strong opinion of what I believe makes a good image and what does not. So many of the pictures that I printed over the years seemed so busy and full of clutter, I think there is an art to knowing when less is more.

Our Newest Photographer Is Claire Shearer From Scotland

Below, Claire  will tell us about her work:

Hi there, my name is Claire and I'm from bonny Scotland! I have been into photography for a couple of years and over that time I have got more and more into it. I love landscape, still life and floral photography. I spend a lot of my spare time traveling to scenic spots to take photos and my last holiday was a photography trip to the beautiful Isle of Skye.

I have been on Zazzle for 6 months and the last couple of months things have really been going well here. I'm am truly a Zazzle addict!! I get a huge buzz when I sell products and the biggest buzz comes when I sell my landscape prints as they are what I'm most proud of.
I recently bought my first DSLR a Sony A300 and I’m loving the creative possibilities it allows. My other equipment: Tamron 17-50mm f2.8, Tamron 90mm f2.8, Sony 55-200 f4.5-5.6, A selection of ND Cokin P filters, and Hoya Polarizer. I absolutely love landscape photography especially up in the Highlands of Scotland and also enjoy taking abstract macros in the comfort of my home. I’m truly hooked on photography and hopefully this is only the beginning.

I love the instant result you get with a digital camera, I was good at art,but often I didn’t have the patience for taking days to complete one piece of work. Since then I have thrown myself into photography and become more passionate about it as time has gone by. I love the creative possibilities that are opened up with an SLR and have become interested in several areas of photography. My favorite type is fine art landscape photography, I especially love long exposure shots that show movement in some way. I am based in Livingston, West Lothian which means several good photographic locations are within easy reach and the dramatic Highlands are within a 2 hr drive. Taking photographs around Scotland has really opened my eyes to the beauty of the country and I feel lucky to live here.

I am constantly searching for the rare moments when perfect light brings a photograph to life. I have set goals to always improve and become a better photographer. I personally think the learning curve is endless and this is only the beginning, it’s exciting to think about what the future may hold in store.

Thanks for viewing my work and please feel free to contact me with your comments, they will be greatly appreciated.

Our Latest Photographer Is St. David 2nd From North West London, U.K.

Below he will tell us a bit about himself, and his work:

St David 2nd is my retirement project, after I was forced to take early retirement due to ill health a couple of years ago. I have long had an interest in photography (had a nice Pentax SLR, did my own developing etc), but limited time in which to pursue it up until now. However in the year following my retirement I picked up some of the threads again, entered a couple of my photos into an exhibition with a local society and tried my hand at printing photographic greetings cards at home. These proved to be popular with family and friends, and so I decided to upload some of my designs onto an internet site.

To date I've got about 80 designs uploaded making around 120 products, with many more in the pipeline. I work with digital photography and enjoy the effects that can be achieved by digital editing, and around 50% of my work comprises "manipulated" prints rather than traditional photographs.

The Zazzle community seems really friendly and I have had some helpful tips to get around the software and set up a store. I also appreciate opportunities like this and hope I will soon be able to offer to promote other people's stuff.

At the moment I'm using a fairly modest Kodak Z915 to see how the project goes before investing in something more expensive, but it has 10mP and a 10x zoom so it's fairly versatile and I'm pleased with some of the results as I hope the selection of posters below show.
